At least anecdotally, some patients tolerate enteric-coated or buffered aspirin better than plain aspirin.
But enteric-coated or buffered aspirin doesn’t reduce the risk of major upper GI bleeding.
This is probably because GI bleeding is due in part to ASA'S systemic inhibition of gastroprotective prostaglandins & platelet inhibition
